Elite Express Basketball is a new organization that promotes basketball skill and team development at the 6th, 7th & 8th grade levels. We are committed to helping improve the skills and conditioning of each athlete we select to participate in our program. We meet twice per week and once on the weekend.

Schedule Events through the end of October:

Monday 6:00-7:10pm at Team Elite

Wednesday 6:00-7:10pm at Team Elite

Friday 5:00-6:00pm at Team Elite (Optional) Shooting Class with Coach Baker

$15.00 Per Player – 6 Player Max. Must email Dennis Cushing to reserve. Spaces are limited so call or email early in the week.

Saturday 9:00-10:30am at Kellam High School (Subject to change)

Where: Weekday workouts take place at Team Elite Strength & Conditioning, Inc. Saturday morning practices currently take place at Kellam High School Gymnasium at 9:00am.

Cost: Parents will be asked to make a commitment of $125.00 Per Player Per Month. This amount does not cover travel, new apparel and or tournament fees. This covers facility usage, basketballs, equipment, coaches and trainers. Any player participating in another seasonal sport will still be asked to pay a maintenance monthly fee of $50.00 to remain eligible for participation on the 2011 Elite Express. This fee would reserve the players roster spot. The maintenance fee would still allow the athlete to come to any basketball related practices.

What The Player Receives: Excellent preparation for competitive middle and high school basketball. Our Coaching Staff will be Directed by Coach Dennis Cushing (14 years of basketball experience playing and 6 seasons coaching the game to high school athletes.) Coordination of most events/games and some administrative work will be handled by Rip Montague. Coach Theo Baker will act as Head Assistant and Head Coach of the younger 7th Grade Team. Ralph Hegamin (Played for Kellam High School, Western Pennsylvania and now professionally in London) will assist with post player development and DeJuan Baskerville (played collegiately at Christopher Newport University) will act as another Assistant Coach. The practices will be organized, structured and designed to continually get these players better through conditioning (bigger, faster & stronger), the team aspect (working as a unit) and individual skill development. Not many teams in the area will have access to the training facilities that we have. Lastly, we will continually evaluate your player to work on improving their weaknesses and nurturing their strengths.

Philosophy: My philosophy is to have a hard-nosed defensive minded ball club. I believe that creating offense through defense is the best way to fast break and force the tempo on the other club. Minimizing turnovers, correctly running offensive sets, fast break, rebounding and playing in your shirt man to man defense is mostly the style that our team’s will employ. The game is a lot more fun when played at an up-tempo level.

 

Coaching Bio’s

Coach Dennis Cushing (2nd Team All Southern Maine, A Maine McDonald’s Senior All American Player 1993 & played collegiately at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire.) Currently assisting the Kellam Knights Boys Varsity Basketball Team with Coaches Norman Hassell and Greg Johnston.

Coach Theo Baker (All Beach Basketball 1st Team of Landstown Eagles circa 2005 & 5th All Time 3 Point Shooter in CNU Men’s Basketball History.) Looking forward to assisting Coaches Robinson and Kelly at Landstown High School in 2011.
