Mission Statement

Team Elite’s mission is fitness for all age groups.   Our elite staff of professionals are highly certified in their field; CSCS (NSCA), ACSM, and NCSF.  Many of our trainers are current coaches and former athletes so we understand what it takes to get the most out of our clients and their abilities.  Team Elite is focused on assisting athletes, active and sedentary adults, our youth and organizations that either need basic fitness or advanced sport specific conditioning.  

History

Team Elite Strength & Conditioning, Inc. opened it’s doors on March 15th, 2008.  In the two years we have been opened we have seen tremendous growth and progress.  The business was founded by Dennis Cushing and Ryan Kurpiel.  The former athletes turned coaches have excelled in bringing their own unique training methods to Team Elite.  The vision for opening up our training facility was based on what we saw as a need for sport specific conditioning among athletes in the Tidewater Area.  As former college athletes we wanted to build a staff that would bring diverse athletic backgrounds mixed with top tier certifications.   Dennis and Ryan started their careers working with adult populations while personal training in VirginiaBeach.  This experience has allowed for a smooth transition for parents, couples and other adults seeking basic and more advanced fitness training.  We have added Delmus Coley who is our Sports Performance Director, Liz Nickerson is our Sales/Marketing Director and Colin Roberson who has become our head Baseball Training Coordinator.  For over a year and a half Team Elite has been proud to train one of the top local softball organizations in Virginia, the Legends.  Since opening we have trained 4 Virginia State Player of the Year athletes, dozens of pro athletes, and hundreds of college and high school aged athletes for greater performance in their respective sports.   Team Elite has been honored to support the Susan B. Komen Foundation by raising money to find a cure for breast cancer.  In 2009 we were able to raise $1,000.00 for our friend and longtime client, Cheryl Dean.  We will honor her memory as we run the Race for a Cure in 2010.
